What a group of people we are...where else would we find someone who goes out and gets $3500 worth of top-notch camera gear and immediately runs outside to take a picture of a wire fence and a water hose? ;)
Congrats on your new toys!

What I find funny is when we were all around 15 or so we were itchin to get a hold of Dad's Playboy and drool over it. It is still centerfolds but centerfolds of lenses. |

Hell, dude, I been ogling cameras and lenses obsessively since 1968... Even in my early 20's I prefered a camera catalogue to a Playboy. Is that sad or what? But then, by that time I always HAD a woman and no plans to trade her in, while cameras were an ongoing evolution.

Well, I have an excuse; I got this lens late yesterday evening, and I'm waiting aroudn today for Ray and Beetle to show up so I can't GO anywhere. Look at my other threads to see me travelling hither and yon with the 60mm and the 10-22mm. So there!
And no, the Tamron isn't here yet, sigh.

Sorry, I lost track of what you purchased - which Tamron did you order Robert?

Ahh okay - I hope yours is better than mine! I bought it used for $280 (a steal!), but the quality is ho-hum (not much better than my 18-55). Tamron told me the warranty is void if I'm not the original purchaser... so I called back a few days later and told them it was a 'gift' (hey, at that price - it practically is!).. they said that's okay and to go ahead and send in the receipt and warranty with a note about that.
I'm debating about whether I should resell the 28-75 and get the 24-135 or just get the 28-75 fixed.

Went out shooting in the fog this morning. Softness is natural, there was of course the fog, and a 15 mph wind as well. 1/15 second exposure. 200mm.

Huh? I gotta shoot wide open, or what? It was on a tripod, natch. Was looking at DOF in the mid-range.

Nice shoot Robert. I'd kill for a little fog. Haven't had any since I bought my camera.
