I took this earlier this evening and before I get a print made, I wanted to know what all you good people thought. Any editing suggestions? Shooting suggestions for next time?

Honest Opinion:
This image represents something I see frequently... not just here but on a lot of photo websites. The weather was beautiful and it was a great day to be outside with a camera.
This landscape has no subject or point of interest. It's well exposed and everything, but what are you trying to show the viewer? It's what I generally call a subject-less photograph. It's easy to get overwhelmed with the beauty of the day, but the composition is simply lacking in interest, in my humble opinion.

jmsetzler - I see your point and appreciate your honesty. True, there is no subject, it is just another nature shot of a beautiful day. In the future, I will keep in mind that without a subject, interest may die off. Thank you for you comments!
Anyone else?

I have read jmsetzler's comment on that photo. I agree. While being there may have held a lot of interest (the wind, the breeze, the warmth, the air), but in the photo, none of those were captured. So to a regular viewer of that photo, he may not feel any special attraction at all. |

If I were working in Antarctica during the winter and wanted to be reminded of "normal" weather, I would put this on my wall. Or if I grew up here and was working in the city, I might put this up in my cube to remind me of home.
Nice image, but the meaningfulness of it would come from inside me combined with the photo. The photo is pleasing but isn't spectacular without that inner perspective. |

Yeah, they are made by the farmers to get tourists and extra income. But I tell you this, Godzilla and Barney are real! and the same goes without saying for Ultraman! They are as real as me and you! ;)

I can see it now...
Kpriest flames Odyssey for his lack of subject matter.

Sorry, I've blown all my material in the forums in the past week. :(
j/k - there is NEVER a shortage of material here. My Enquirer note file overfloweth. I am shooting to have it done by the end of July or the next issue is FREE! :)

Hmmm, looks like a hijacking has occurred here. The guilty party leaves comment on photo and scurries off...

Wow...sign on this morning to see what's happening, and I find godzilla and barney. LOL Don't worry, no offense taken. In fact, I was laughing so hard that my co-workers were looking over to see what I was in stitches about. Funniest thing I've seen in days!
I appreciate the comments and agree with them, it does need a subject. Personally, I like the shadows, and as rasdub suggested, I think I may return to the site and try some more with it.
I'm still a bit new to this whole thing and somehow the need for a subject slipped my mind. Now that you've pointed it out to me, I will make sure not to forget again :D
Oh, and the crop circles, those made my day. Only wish that I had actually seen them.
You guys are great, thanks a lot!!
