I risked my life for this shot; it was taken nearly a full minute after the passengers were asked to turn off any electronic equipment. We did land.

Just saw this thread. Shot some clouds at dusk today and posted them to a thread I started, but here's one:

One frustrating thing about a "clouds challenge", though, is that there's a LOT of luck-of-the-draw involved there. The winners are gonna be whoever happens to get killer clouds where they are at during the challenge period. A challenge like this, that is weather-dependent, might be worth running as a special challenge over a 4-wk submission period or something?

Thanks I've read the piece on forum code and tried everything except, apparently, the right thing. Might I assume you created a thumbnail of the photo? Or is there some magic way getting the site to do it? I cannot tell from the text of the ms you posted. And if a user creates the thumbnail, is there a conventional size .. most look pretty much the same size.

Nawp. You put the image in your portfolio as usual. When you want to put a thumb in a post, you open up a "post reply" window. In the window, directly above the white field you type in, are 5 icons. The rightmost of those icons is the thumbnail icon. Click on it and you get a pop-up field where you enter the identifying number of your image: in this case, 206933. Click ok, and the thumb link is inserted. The site creates the thumbnail automatically.

To find your image number, simply open it up and copy the 6-digit number that appears at the end of the URL window; ONLY the number, nothing else.

Thanks much John & Robert ! It's so much simpler than I had imagined - A six digit number and nothing more [for my own benefit so I don't have to spend another hour trying to figure it out next times] Sometimes an advanced degree is really bad for the soul .

Beautiful - directly to my favorites :)

However, I think it's the waves that make the picture for me. The clouds certainly help, of course.

Time to resurrect the cloud thread:
