Hi everyone,
Just wanted to give everyone an update on my new job at the local paper. Well, as I mentioned in my previous thread, I was hired as a typesetter, but they told me I'd have a chance to take some photos down the road. I have been there a little over three weeks now, I work three days a week, and I absolutely love it! Anyway, this weekend was a local small town festival and I took some pictures with the hope they would use some, and today, I found out they are going to print one in full color on the front page, two columns wide!!! I couldn't be happier! And it get's better, that one will be on the front page, to lead people to more about the festival on a different page, where they are going to print approximately four or five more of my shots, also in color! Just had to share my joy!!! Anyway, I don't get as much time to be on here as I have in the past, but I wanted to update you all on how things are going, as none of it would have happened without all that I have learned here from everyone! This is such a great community that has taught me so much, my photography has improved so much since I first came here and I have so many to thank for that! |

Wow, that's great. Congrats. When do we get to see the image? How many copies of the paper do you have? :P

I'll get it on here as soon as I have a chance,(I'm on my lunch break right now) I don't have any copies yet, the paper doesn't actually come out till tomorrow. |

Shannnnnon. . . . .no WONDER you are so proud!!!!!!! That is definitely worth sharing with us!!! Congratulations. I predict that your typesetting job is not long for this world, and you will be out there shooting photos full time before long. Can't wait to see your shots!!!!!

Here is the picture they are using on the front...
This girl had just been crowned Czech princess for 2005-06 and was playing her flute for the crowd.
I would post a link, but as I mentioned this is a very small newspaper, with no website, but I will try to take a pic of the paper itself and post that. I have to wait till tonight to see it! |
