It's a great TC, I use the same (Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 DG series) on my 70-200mm 4L. 100 bucks less than Canons and it is more versatile (mounts all lenses except EFS) and is as sharp (well I haven't seen any loss of detail with it). |

I'm guilty too... I use the Tamrom 1.4 TC (the cheap one reported to be exactly the same than the Kenko) with my 70-200 f/4 and 50 f/1.4 which doesn't fit on the canon TCs.
Being a full frame TC it performs very well with cropped digital sensors, no edge softness. 80 bucks in BH.

That teleconverter is every bit as good as the canon... I'm quite happy with it. I started out with the canon 1.4x and then sold it because I never used it. I found a new need for one and decided to try this one and I don't regret it. It's about $80 less than the canon.

John real nice :) But if I could afford to have someone air brush the flames on the lens hood I could probably then afford the lens LOL

Since I am an advocate of the "little guy", I offer this cheap alternative: Create flames in photoshop, print on legal paper, cut to size, tape around the lens hood. This is better anyway, cuz you can change the "skin" to suit the occasion or environment!

Thanks John, for the inspiration! :P

Hehehe, when I store my lenses in my roadcase, I put the 70-200 and 16-35 hoods together in the same slot... when I took this pic (with a sony p&s) I forgot to pull the 16-35 hood out. |
