I am going nuts trying to decide which image to enter in the Zoo Challenge! 8-/
I spent all day yesterday at the zoo - took about 350 shots (obsessed much? lol). Some aren't any good, most are fair, some are good, and a few IMHO are worthy of submission. Now I just have to decide WHICH ONE! AAARRRGGGH! Anyone else feel my frustration? LOL (I know it's silly, but I get excited about the possibility - however remote - of a ribbon!)
Of course, I'll wish I entered a different one when it's all over and done with. I've canvassed my friends and family (all of whom have a different opinion), so I guess I just have to take the plunge and go with my gut instinct. (Yes, I need to get a life!)
;-) Good luck everyone!

I believe a lot of us are going thru that same decision process. Which one is our favorite, which will be unique, which one will score.....etc etc.

Ah yes, spent yesterday at the Zoo with two fellow DPC'ers.
I shot about 3/4 of a 1GB card, narrowed it down to about a dozen, then to three, and finally... one.
Now, did I choose the right one? only time will tell. Anyhoo, I'm happy with it!

No zoo up here. We do have a lion park locally, but at $125.00 entrance fee plus more if you want to take photos I gave it a miss! Can't wait to see all the photos in this challenge.....it'll be awesome!!

I have easy access to a zoo, however I'm somewhat limited on shots as I don't have a zoom lense of any significant capability. I think I got a good shot for the challenge - it certainly will be unique.
For those of you with no zoo, the challenge says "things you might see in a zoo". You could always just go to a crowded street corner and take a picture of the gawking masses. You definately see that at a zoo!!! j/k, of course.

I know exactly how you all feel. I go through this with every challenge I enter....only to end up in the mid 5 range anyway.(if I'm lucky) lol
Right now I have it narrowed down to 3 -- and time is running out.
Decisions, decisions.

Yeah, I have like 5 awesome ones, I've asked a few people I know which they liked best, everyone picked the same one, so I guess I'll go with that one. I'll probly be kicking myself later, but that's the way it goes!

Good luck to you! My opinion, after watching much voting, is that 5.5 is nothing to be ashamed of. |

I was thinking about entering...but just couldn't find anything I really liked. This is my ball python (smeagal) in my light tent. |

A sign saying "Please don't feed the animals" would have worked too. You see that at the zoo.

Just be glad that you have shots. I really wanted to enter this one, but have been busy all week looking at apartments during the daytime and can't make it to the zoo before it closes. Good luck on choosing :)

I seem to be stuck in the 4.7 - 4.9 range lately.
Need to break out of this rut. |

Me too, but I was at the zoo Wednesday for 250 clicks. So I've had more time to obsess and go back and forth among my 4 best. May not finally decide until 11:55. lol |

I had mine uploaded for 3 days and then made about the 9th change and decided to scrap it, zoom in and do it once again! LOL I'm finally happy. I've seen some out takes of people's in their portfolios and I think there are going to be some GREAT shots. This is always a fun challenge. It's pretty hard to misinterpret this one, but we might be surprized.
I can't wait to see what we have to vote on!!!

Well, I've now changed my mind and my entry about 5 times. I just finished touching up my latest one and reposting it (I noticed something that I could correct pretty easily). AARRRGGGGH! I don't think I've stressed over a challenge more than this one to date! At least my opportunity to change my mind again will be over soon! LOL
Good luck everyone! I have a feeling this is going to be another very fiercely competitive challenge with some fantastic entries & high scores (which probably is a bad omen for my score! LOL).

Well, I'm in! I didn't think I would end up entering because I know how great some of the shots will be, and feel like the limits of my camera (not to mention *me*) will be painfully evident. But, I did manage a couple of decent shots, and one that after a little post processing, I'm happy with. Of course, I've tweaked and updated it 4 times this evening alone...but I guess that's par for the course.
Edit: I better go check it again...there's still an hour left! hehehe
Good Luck all!

I've just been to the zoo this morning, came back and edited some of the photos ... but, yes, difficult decision which to submit.
And Sue... $125 to enter a lion park?
Excuse while I change my submission again... |
