I just got to playing around with the color balance and saturation levels. Basic stuff. Thanks for the comments! |

I like the first one a lot, its warm colors and negative space. The 2nd one not so much... it just looks busy and I don't know what to look at, the water or the greens.

ditto
The colors in the first are interesting and different, your eye is drawn to the white flower but the background is still interesting enough to look at without being annoying. Maybe just a little more of the white flower in the shot but not sure, would have to see it.
Good job.

I don't really care for the second one, just nothing to draw the eye.
The first one has lots of potential. The main thing I have a problem with is the flower doesn't look in focus. That could be due to resizing it for DPC or that it wasn't actually in focus (I don't know).
I kind of like it with the flower further to the side and not centered (maybe not quite so far over as I've done it(quick and very dirty edit):

I agree, more of the white flower. |

I agree with the other commenters that the flower shot has a lot of potential. I like the idea of a slightly different crop, moving the flower more to the side. The other photograph seems to lack a subject.

Yeah the second shot is kinda blah to me but the first is good, I'd also crop it diffrently, maybe a little off the top and move the flower slightly over.
maybe something like this

Thanks for all the comments! I think they really help. I agree with the ideas about the second one, I just thought it would be fun. I think if I could have focused on the color of the water, it would've been much more interesting. Sometimes it's hard to think about setting up a picture different ways (Crop, zoom). Your ideas about off-setting it were excellent!
