I like the reworked version better. The sunset colors are much more vibrant. Is color adjustment banned from the challenges? I'm a bit fuzzy on that...

No, I just manually worked the first one. I used the D10 finishing action on the second version and used the bold color sub action to draw out the colors.... This action is perfectly legal for Advanced but not Basic.

It's a toss-up for me. I think both have their qualities. I like the color saturation in the original, but the more muted colors allow the clouds to stand out in the second. I think the photo stands alone without a frame, and am iffy on whether you need one.

I think your second photo is a touch "stronger". But I'd score both of them the same. It's a pretty picture, you should be happy with it!!

I like the reworked version better. Beautiful colors and I think the extra light allows more DOF to show through.

I'm always amazed at the variety of opinions on this site. What one person likes, another dislikes and vice versa.

For me, the original works best. That's a little odd for me as I generally prefer vibrant colors. But the original, to me, feels more "real". Especially in the lighting and texture of the water.

So there you have just one more opinion to weigh in with the group. :-)

Definitely the first one for me..the second looks over processed and not real..the first is really a very nice shot.

It really is amazing isn't it? For every 5 people you get to tell you one thing, there are 5 others willing to tell you the exact opposite! I guess it really does prove that it's your own opinion that matters most! :-)

Hip check into the evening crowd...

The first version, the challenge entry, is FAR superior IMO. This is partly because the sky looks more natural and expressive, but largely due to the fact that the color on the water in the reworked version is totally alien-looking to me.

I am begining to think you are right Bear... Especially after I look at the print that I made from the second. I am begining to believe that I am woefully inadequate in color management...
