Fellow DPCers, I just wanted to take a second and brag about a local contest that I won. I have never really been too good at photography, and have never even placed anywhere near the top of anything. In fact, if you look at my profile, I don't really do too well on this site. But every now and then I do get lucky. It is like what Ansel Adams said, "Sometimes I do get to places just when God's ready to have somebody click the shutter." Only, I don't get to those places as often as he did, so I am really excited about this contest. It was put on by the local newspaper, so there may not have been that many entries, but I don't care. I still got first, and that is all that matters to me!
Anyway, here is the photo:

Congrats. Quite a few people that have never won a ribbon here actually does well in competitions outside of DPC.

Great shot, I love the clouds. You've done a very good job of post processing it.
If it were mine I think I'd enter it in some Photo of the Day contests online. Steve's Digicams POTD has one, and there is a list of several others further down on that page.

No cash prize. But I do get it posted in the local newspaper for recognition, and they are going to give me a 16x20 or so print also. But hey, it's just for beginners, so that's alright with me.
