What's the cheapest camera that lets you manually control the shutter speed? I'm looking for something cheap I can take with me to concerts.

Thanks,

If you could find a A65 or A75 they'd be about $150

I second louddog.

I've used a A70, the predecessor to the A75 and had great results with it.

Powershot A75/A85/A95 are made by Canon

the canon A series is the way to go, get a tripod when you take the pics if its at concerts, otherwise your pics will turn out like doo doo when used a distance away

Me too..

For the powershot A series.. I've got an A70 I use at home a bit, and have used A75/85/95's at work and they are all good wee cameras, with full manual + Av, Tv modes.

Cheers, Me.

I'm an A70 user too - I guess you should be able to pick one up pretty cheaply on Ebay.

Look at the Panasonic Lumix cameras, there are a number of models that can be picked up at a good price and you will have the advantage of image stabilisation

All the photos on this website were taken by me with a Panasonic FZ10 which you can pick up very cheaply now.

As Colda mentioned, this is one of the best cheap cameras to use in low light situations because of the Image Stabilisation. Also, F2.8 throughout the entire zoom range is very handy.

Partly true, also the FZ range have big 12x zoom Leica lenses and a constant f2.8 aperture, I can see a difference when taking shots at 1/100 or 1/60 when I have IS enabled, also in the application that the OP has in mind not everything is moving all the time and the ability to get shots at slower shutter speeds is very useful indeed.
