I'm moving from Phoenix to Massachussetts in about a month. Any advice on equipment maintainance that I need to know going from a very hot dry climate to wet, humid, cold, etc...all things Phoenix is not?

better invest in some weather sealed lenses so that moisture doesn't get into them i guess

Not sure about what you'd have to do different for your camera equipment, but I would strongly suggest you get your car protected agaianst the effects of road salt - rustproofing.

| Get a good winter coat for you! Equipment is no good if you're freezing your buns off in the winter! |

I'm originally from UT, so I do have warm clothes...hope the moth balls worked :)...rustproofing, I'm starting to think the camera will be the least of my worries!!

I'm in Massachusetts, Cape Cod. You don't need to so anything special to your camera, this is not an extreme climate here. Even in the dead of winter it's neither that cold nor that wet. Where ya moving to, exactly?

Amherst. I'm going to school at UMASS. My parents have friends in Orleans. I'm going to try to stay with them for a week or so in August when I get out there.

Be sure to contact me ahead of time, we can get together. Just down the road from me, I go to Orleans all the time. My vet's there, my Doc's there, my camera store is there...
