Can anyone tell me if the warranty covers a camera if it drops and breaks?

Manufacturer warranties generally only cover defective workmanship. Some extended warranties will cover a drop.

You can generally extend "house and contents" insurance to specific items outside of the home. That can include accidental damage/dropage.
Also, if you ever rent/lease equipment, you can get insurance cover most of the time.
OR:::: Mack extended warranties for 3/5 year on equipment.

My exact thoughts as well! I had a pin bend inside mine while inserting the card. They charged me $200 to repair that. Bad thing was that when it came back, it wouldn't focus any more. Had to send it back again. This repair was free, but left me 20D-less for 10 more days! Needless to say, I was not thrilled by their warrenty or their service.

It's broke. The tripod tossed it to the ceramic floor.
