I'm getting my county and state fair entries ready, and I've come to the "Seascape" category. I have three pics I need to choose from. Luckily, I get to choose two, because there is also an "Other Subject" category.
Here's the three. Help me choose two. (And please rank them 1 & 2, as the official entry form for the county doesn't list the "other" category, but I called and they said that there was, but just in case I can only enter one):
The county fair starts July 28, but I want to get these things printed and framed in the next two weeks.

| I had my two year old daughter look at them and she likes the top two. I think I agree. Is there any way you can bring out the horizon just a tad in the top pic? All three are great. Good luck. |

Picture #1 is my first pick. And no, I would not try to define the horizon. What makes the image so strong is the illusion of land floating in the sky.

Number 2 is the strongest, compositionally. Number one is more calming though. But I'd choose number 2 as the best.

| I also pick the top two as #1 and #2 in the order posted. I agree with nbsca7 that the shoreline is perfect in #1. If it were mine, though, I might try reversing it so that the dock comes from left to right. Just my thought, in case you want that sort of input. Beautiful pics, good luck at the fair, I'm sure you'll do well. |

As far as immediate impact goes 2, 1, 3 though the the first one appeals to me more than the second. If the lighthouse could be made to stand out more I think the first one would be a better choice than the second.
