Wow...seriously, and I'm not just saying this...some of these edits are just horrendous. From looking like a plastic leg to large pink stripes twirling near the top...if you're in over your head, tell the poor young lady that you don't know how to edit out the stretch marks. Take a class or something, because seriously, the more everyone is trying, the worse the results are getting.
Sorry to be blunt, but I'm being dead honest and don't want to see you tarnish your name or hurt her feelings either.

Can you do any better? If you can help him, or any of us learn, please go on and show us up and teach us how to do it better.

Just zoom way in and clone only the more white spots (the scars) using a brush the same width as the scars and be sure to set the brush to a hardness of zero (so you don't leave lines). Clone from just under or over the scars. I did a pretty decent job in just a few minutes. Take your time and it will be flawless.

| Here's a healing tool tip for ya. When working near an area of high contrast (either light or dark) make a selection around the area you want to work on. This will prevent the tool from trying to blend in the adjacent extremely light or dark area. As always work with a hard edged brush. |

Try editing the fullsize version because any mistakes or flaws in your pp will not be visible when viewed web-size or in a print for the most part.
On the first page, there's one that was neatimaged or used the method of blur then layer mask, and painting visible with a low-transparency brush -- that one looks good...
that would be this one...
I did the best I could here, but I'm no professional either and if I was getting paid, I don't think I'd even attempt it because I wouldn't want to let someone down. What I did was just zoom in close and use the clone tool sparingly...
so here's my take...

My camera is real noisey at times, so this was no challenge, its a bit softer than you had. I also think this would look good in Black and White also. Here is my try at it.

Perfect example of the typical overprocessed glamor look. I can't say i'm a fan of it but it's a common look.

My attempt...about 6 clicks with the healing brush tool.
I'd also like to add that if that were my arse, and those were the only piddly little stretch marks I had to deal with, I'd be a happy little nice-arsed camper. Man what having 3 kids does to a body. ;)

Laurie - your version came out very nicely - very natural. Doesn't change the skin tones at all.
Agreed - truly, the woman in the photo looks splendid - stretch marks and all.

If I ever would work out, I would loose my beer belly. I'm so proud of it.
I use to be skinny as a rail. I could turn sideways and disappear.
Your thread has been high jacked lmao. |

| Another possiblity for removing those stretch marks would be to offer your services as a "massage therapist". Just kidding. On a serious note, you may actually be able to get rid of them during the shoot by using a little makeup? I'm really not sure about this, just guessing. I'm really close to my ACE (Adobe Certified Expert) and could probably get these out, but several others have done a decent enough job - deapee's was one of the best, IMHO. |

I did just the bottom half (quick and dirty) without prior touchups using a process called skin smoothing. Setting Paths, G blur, noise and textures. Process from Adobe Photoshop CS: The Art of Photographing Women
I have made it into an action to run.
You can get it Here (Right Click to download it from this page)
...bottom ...top and bottom
I would clean up the other darker areas prior (would be tough on a low quality jpg). But it gives you a good idea.

I have stretch marks on my hips...and I'm in really good shape, have been my whole life, really. Who wants to try and get rid of mine next...oh wait, I'm not a scantily dressed female so no one would probably want anything to do with it ;)
No, on a more serious note, I think that area on a female is the sexiest part...right where her stretch marks are...and being completely honest, and I know I said this already, I really like the stretch marks being there. It's a touch of 'imperfection' (if you would call it that, I personally wouldn't) on an otherwise perfect body. Beauty at its best.

| From mylimited experience, it seems that the healing brush works best if you follow the contour of the targeted shape because the light is following the contour of the shape. When i used a left to right motion my PS edits came out the way that your first attempt looked DanSig, but if i lower the hardness and then follow the general contour of the body, then the results look much like keybosh's. I brushed from the top left to the bottom right and achieved much better results than a left to right only movement. |
