Ok you saw my husband's from this afternoon, now this is the one I did this morning.
What do you think?

I like this one way better than the orange (sorry to your husband). I know some said they liked the orange, but I think this goes better with the gray and black.
Stem/leaves gone - improvement
No border - improvement
Color change - improvement
I like that technically the subject matter is simplistic, but the incongruity between the two objects makes it work.

| I like this one better, I like the removal of the stems/leaves. I like this border better. But I still like the orange better, what can I say, I'm an orange fan. |

Nice work. I think that the flower needs a bit more contrast, and I would put it more off-center (probably, closer to the bottom, and also a bit more empty space on the left, maybe?
(brings it somewhat closer to your husband's version... a guy taste? :))

| Don't change anything. It's great. Coupling a chain with a flower is a really cool idea and you've succeeded in doing it artistically. Who cares about the contrast, etc. |

| I like this. You did a great job on it. My only slight nitpick would be that the purple border seems to be different thicknesses. It is a bit bothersome to me (very very slightly). |

| Love the photo! IMO, the soft inner edges of the border are slightly distracting. Other than that, it's a great photo. |
