Who knows photoshop 7 really well that can answer a technical question? I am using a Wacom pen/ tablet and I do a lot of work that requires using the brushes. In photoshop 7 there is a function to the brushes called 'shape dynamics' that always defaults to 'on' every time a new brush is selected. This is so extremely irritating, if you know what I mean, so as to make the brushes so inconvenient with the pen tablet that they are virtually unusable. I need to know if anyone here has experience with this part of version 7 and knows if there is a way to keep the 'shape dynamics' turned 'off' for all of the brushes without continually turning back 'on' every time a new brush is selected. I will probably resort back to Photoshop 5, before the brushes got all screwed up. Just because something is new and has more features definitely does not guarentee it will be any better.

I''m too late to help you...even if I knew the answer.....but here is a link to an excellent site that has tutorials on everything and explanations galore. Maybe you could find something useful here, as I have. Thanks...

Tim,

Probably the easiest workaround would be to load the brushes you need (with their settings) into a custom set. I know thee's a BUNCH of other annoying things about it -- I think there was a good review in Electronic Publishing. If you want, I'll try and locate the exact reference (I think it was in the June issue).
