I took this of some daisies that my husband bought for me. I know they look "silky", almost unreal, but I kinda like the feel of it. What do you guys think?

Thanks!

One of the most spectacular flower shots I've seen here (IMHO). I left comments on the image. Great job and my newest Favorite!

Wow! Thanks for all the great comments! :) I could have gotten away with entering this in a basic editing challenge:

-Cropped
-hue/saturation (not selective, but chose "magenta" to bring out the purple)
-levels
-saved and processed through neat image
-shadows/highlights
-unmasked sharp

I just played with each thing until I liked what I saw. I probably couldn't do it again. :) I like taking pictures of "stuff" and playing with it, to help me learn. It looks like it may be working! LOL

I don't know if others agree with me (and in the past they haven't always), but IMHO you really captured something special in this one. The image seems almost 3D to me - very cool BTW. It's too bad there's not an open challenge at the moment that this would fit into, but if you can replicate it for your Darkness and/or Birds entry, I think you've got a winner! (Obviously the subject matter must change, but I'd stick with the PP you've used. I still have a lot to learn in that area...)

Sorry (My opinion only) but I have to point out my druthers one this one...

I love the colors you have captured, it is a very sharp picture with a nice composition but for me the Shadows are quite harsh (usually the results of on-camera flash) especially the distracting one on top that falls on your main subject. Maybe lighting from the front just below would have softened the shadows.

Sharpening and Neat Image (noise reduction) I am a fan of both but the shot, again IMO there parts of the flowers that don't appear real to me...possibly over smoothed or Neat Imaged. I think it is a combination Sharp Shadows and Noise Reduction that give me a feel that these are Plastic flowers in the arrangement (I believe they are real by the detail in the center flower).

It is a nice shot but for me a bit over processed.

I hope you have given your husband 100 big fat kisses for giving you flowers.

I've been with my husband for 3 1/2 years and I've gotten flowers once.

Not that I'm complaining, mind you. He's so wonderful that those small details are not relevant.

However, I always hope that those romantic men are being adequately appreciated for their efforts.
