Here are 3 different edits of the same photo. All the edits started with merging to raw files. 1 exposed for the trees and the other exposed for the sky.

Let me know what you think of them.

Thanks in advance...

Velvia
Darkened with a soft focus

I'm not a big infrared fan~
The other two are really beautiful. Nice on any wall, calender, cards.
The sky is fantastic and really adds interest. This same spot would be great at sunrise, sunset or with a boater.

I like infrared when used properly... however, in this situation I think the second and third photos are the best. I enjoyed the Velvia version the best, good color and overall mood.

Velvia version doesn't look Velvia to me and the infrared version doesn't look infrared to me either. Also, I don't like the soft focus in this situation. I don't see them doing anything dramatic to the image.

My opinion: the image doesn't hold my interest. There is no main subject in the image, just some contrasting blobs and some fluffy clouds. The area above the clouds is way too dark and there is no reason to have that area in the photo.

I like the soft focus one the best by far. It's really nice, great colors, nice smooth texture to it.

Regarding the IR one, not speaking of yours specifically, but speaking of the style in general, I don't like the 'fake infrared' style of images. Actual infrared photography is kind of interesting and can be pretty, but the imitation of it in postprocessing really doesn't interest me. It just looks phony.

Thanks again for all the comments! I've shot this location several times through out the year. This IMO was the best time so far.
