I can't really come up with much. It's sometimes hard to title someone else's photos because I don't know what the though process behind the image is/was.

Thanks for taking the time and your suggestions. The shot is not great but I was sick today and didn't get the chance to get out until late. The moon behind the clouds caught my eye but the only place to get a picture of it was in an old mill parking lot. The moon was very low. I may play around with it more and see if B&W may make it better or a different tone instead of color.

Again thanks everyone for offering your suggestions.

Was just a little curious...I was shooting same moon with about same cloud cover. It was a bit strange to me when I seen it.

Spurs, that is exactly what my brother an I was saying. You know how when the moon first comes up it looks large because of the horizon. This one did and was red. I didn't have my camera, like I said I didn't feel good today, because I had just took a run to the store. I came home got the camera and it was still low [we have tall pine trees here] and the only place I could get a shot was at an abandon mill parking lot. I wish it would of came out better but didn't have time to fool around with setting because I was in a very bad part of town were I was shooting the moon. I have a close up of it if you would like to see. But the cloud cover obscures it making a kind of hollow feel.

EDIT: Just incase you wanted to see the close up:

I was just sitting out side, after a shower. Love this kind of weather, nice and cool. I should be in bed lol.

I watch for that when the moon is low and a dark red or brown. Like a harvest moon. had to work over tonight so I missed out on its rise.

You just gave me a good title for the close up shot. "Harvest Moon". I wish I would of taken the time to manually focus but like I said, bad part of town. What is your honest opinion on the close up photo? The only editing was levels, contrast, and USM. No other adjustments. The hallow around the moon was there in the original.

mine looked more like the sun than the moon...wonder how many ppl I could fool..:-)

Yes it does. What amazes me is how the moon is focused enough to get a good clean round edges. I guess because of the cloud cover. But yet not render any moon details in my shot or yours. Good shot.

If i was to paint this, you would have to have some depth in it to make it pop like the lower clouds, in the bottom of the picture, like maybe the sun just had dropped giving the lower portion a golden look. just my 2 cents

Thanks for you comment. That is why I didn't post it earlier. It seemed monotone to me. Lacking an element to render emotion or pop.

its not lacking anything...its what you like and thats all that matters. A person has to enjoy your own needs, only pleasing yourself and sharing it with others.
