I was away working up in Aberdeenshire this week and was really pleased to get a photo of the very rare and elusive red squirrel. OK it's not the best photo in the world but it was the only glimpse I got.
The pssibility of extintion is very real for these little guys and Scotland has at least 75% of the UK's red squirrel population i.e. 121,000 of the animals. The reds have been squeezed out of their natural habitats by the larger and more adaptable grey squirrel.

Maybe it's just me but I really expected to see a squirrel in a kilt carrying a set of bagpipes...oh well.
Great pictures by the way, I can never get them to stay still long enought to get a shot off. |

Haggis hunting season is a very short period of time. You can only hunt them on a 2 week holiday period if you are from the USA and can afford whatever price comes into our head.
Haggis are elusive animals, and are very rarely seen by anyone other than a true Scot. A little known fact: Haggis have two legs, one shorter than the other, so that they can run around the scottish mountains. They climb mountains clockwise and decend anti-clockwise.
If there is any Americans interested i am running a 'haggis hunt' quite soon. The cost is half price at the moment at £4500 which is only about $12.50. Sign up here!

I was under the impression that the haggis are attracted by shiny white shoes, and thats why the Americans wear them when they come over to Scotland.
