ok, some of you know that i'm remodeling my kitchen. it's been an arduous process.

to make things more fun, i've been bitching to the world on a blog. i haven't posted it here before, but this weekend i got bored and tried some stop-motion photography.

so, thanks to my good friends nikon capture and after effects, i give you the world premiere of "how to drywall your kitchen in 53 seconds." (it's about a 4Mb Flash movie.)

in case you're interested.... :P

Great movie making: I really like the stills.

My last bit of drywalling took me months. But then I had to do it in full motion and had no assistants to help.

Enjoy the papering, plastering over the cracks, having it all fall out and starting again. Several times over. Then it all heppening again when you try and paint it! Maybe not - you probably did a better job than I did!

ugh, every wall in the house is plaster, so i'm well-versed in the mudding (filling in holes). i did take out the plaster out of the bathroom (it was totally wasted after 100 years of hot showers with no ventilation), and was planning on leaving the plaster in the kitchen until it started to have other ideas.

the project has been quite an adventure.

That's cool, Rob! Reminds me I should use my Optio's time lapse mode more often!

Wow, your whole site is fun! I got the remodel bug hardcore after visiting a friend who is redoing an 1800's colonial and another who is completely redoing a duplex in Philly. I've toned down a bit on the shows but still faithfully read This Old House in preparation for all the remodeling I was going to do in my new house!

Except then we bought a house that doesn't really need any remodeling which was kind of a surprise. But I still want to retile the bathroom.

Anyway, good luck with the kitchen!

What a project you've gotten yourselves into! I love the blog and the pics. You'll look back on this and laugh in a few years. It's so cool that you found such interesting items in your renovation. It sure is going to look beautiful when you are finished!!!! Good luck! :o)

my plan when this is all said and done is to print out the blog and stick it in the wall before i put up the last piece of trim. kinda like a time capsule for the next poor sucker who renovates this place. :)
