We (my husband and & I) love to travel and naturally take memory cards full of pics that usually take weeks to edit when we get back.
We are discussing where to go this summer and I thought this might be a good way of getting ideas!
~So the question is... where do you think the best place is (on Earth) to take photos???? If I limit American friends to a state rather than just USA I hope you'll understand ...you need to be a bit more specific 'cos we couldn't cover it all in two weeks!! ditto Australia !!

Well, for a two week stay, I would recommend South Carolina with possible side trips to North Carolina and Georgia.
Lots of historical places to visit, especially in Charleston and Columbia. Lots of beaches, some touristy, some not. Lots of wildlife areas and heritage preserves. The upcountry has some beautiful mountains & is a great portal to get into some of the NC mountains.
Of course there's the usual, too: shopping, great eating, etc.
Visit DiscoverSC.com and TheUpcountry, com for more info.
If you like hiking and waterfalls, visit SCWaterfalls.com and SCTrails.com. Both of these sites are packed with stuff to do.
Hope this helps!

You could visit one of the new members of the EU. Poland is cool, for example.

Then this is easy - Iceland. Just look at the multitude of amazing photos taken from Iceland by dwc'ers - it's a small place so you can cover it well and a GORGEOUS place, so you can fill up some cards AND you're not as far as the rest of us from Iceland so it won't be a horrible amount of travel to get to and from - you can spend most of the time there.

I'm kinda partial to SC - been living here all my life. I've gone just about all over the US & I really can't find anywhere that suits me better. I've been really exploring SC for about 3 years now (intentionally, that is), and I know that I haven't even scratched the surface of what there is to see and do here.
If ya'll decide to come down here, would love to meet ya'll for dinner or a hike or somesuch...
Sara
PS - I'd offer you a place to stay, but we're in an incredibly *small* duplex!

In a two week vacation you can do Israel and Egypt, and most likely you will even have a couple of days to visit the Red Rock and Petra in Jordan which are AMAZINGLY beautiful.
A lot to see but everything is so close. In Israel anyway... You can cross it from north to south in less then 8 hours...

Thanks. Unfortunately that's not really likely unless I win the lottery or something!
Good luck with the vacation plans!

Ooodles of places in Canada... too numerous to mention.
The USA offers a bevy of photo ops. I toured the USA for 3 1/2 months last summers and was stunned by the things I saw on the east coast, west coast and points in between.
Since you reside in England, I am certain you can appreciate the countless vistas available in that part of the world.
In a nutshell, I have no idea what to suggest as every place I can think of has things of beauty to offer.

| Central Idaho is perhaps one of the prettiest places I've ever seen. Especially the Sawtooth Mountains. From Sun Valley to Stanley you have some of the best mountain ranges in the lower 48. IMO. |
