Take an apple (the fruit, not a computer!) anywhere, do anything you like to it, but make the shot your own
and how are we supposed to do it with Basic editting?? |

Um, I don't understand the problem...
The same way you would take any photo with basic editing?

Set the apple up somewhere and click the shutter button on your camera.

...and, of course, if you try for the famous bullet-through-the-apple photo, set up to the side, not opposite the gun!

I presume the OP's point was, he can't DO "whatever he wants" to the apple, because it's basic editing and what he WANTS to do to it is forbidden in that ruleset...

Remember, I live in Texas... they're right next to milk and eggs... basic necessities. But you have to produce a driver's license (or at least a high school ID, I'm not sure)

Made sense to me. I did what I wanted with the apple, not the pic of the apple. I had a great idea for this one and even attempted to do it, but the local boys in blue didn't appreciate it nor did they see the humor in it. Oh well. Living in a small town makes it really hard to get away with stuff in public. |

I'm sorry, my imagination just went wild on this one.
George Micheal got caught in a public rest room by the men in black (not blue here). that poor apple.

Hahaha! Good to hear someone else is going for something unusual! Well, I got my apple shot submitted. I think I'm more excited to post up "The Making of My Apple Shot" after voting's finished. It's pretty humorous, to me anyway. I actually risked my life for the shot, well, physical well-being at least. It didn't work out the way I planned, which is too bad, but I was more interested in living. So, unfortunately I didn't get the funny shot I was after. Oh well, I still have use of both of my legs, and that's what counts!

Thanks for the bail money Buzzmom!
Swingin - my imagination did as well. Of all the things I came up with, what I submitted was not my first choice. If I could have had a short film of my first attempt and the local police telling me to 'get down from there before we arrest you' that would have been great. I also came up with quite a few that may have been too risque, but they sure would have been original.
Strikeslip - I have been told many times my brain doesn't work like most people's does. That I think differently. I am not sure if my photos will actually bear this out, but the thoughts of the possible photos sure would. |

The beauty of basic editing is that special effects get more merit because they are achieved with the most primitive editing form and that is good.
However, not all shots need be special effects. This challenge is basically wide open in so far as concepts go and again, this is good. All you need is an apple and your imagination.
Basic editing has the extra charm of an image being dressed up and let's face it, if you have conjured a concept it just means extra preparation as there is little room for error. |
