Hey everyone, I've been a regular browser through this brilliant site for ages. I have never submitted any pics because I only have a small concord digital camera and I know it's not as good as the ones you all use. However, I took my little camera along to an exhibition and took the picture included in this link

//img.photobucket.com/albums/v191/muggle_girl_sc/dinobreath.jpg

lots of people have said it's a good pic, but I'd like some advice from the professionals! The T rex was moving and I had hoped to catch it with it's mouth open... it seems I might have gotten my wish. Thanks in advance for any advice you guys n gals!

in photoshop if you hit ctrl+alt+~ it will select the brightest area, hit ctrl+j and it makes a new layer with that selection. you can use this to get the teeth all white and brighten them up a little...just a thought

thanks you guys! the green spot is a bit of greenery behind and to the side of the t rex. I shall need to get into photo shop or something and get rid of it. You know though, I never noticed it! lol

It's on my pc as my wallpaper at the mo and everyone always comments on it (",)

thank you, that was such a nice thing to say! It's been my best pic so far, well, my most effective one. I've been taking loads of pics but that one is my favourite. Cheers again!

Well, we just had a recent blue ribbon winner who I believe used a simple 1 mega-pixel camera or so i hear. That's like using my cell phone...to win a blue ribbon.

So camera is NOT always the limiting factor. Just have fun....

Low megapixel plus great post-processing skills will even the odds.

Probably would've given it a "8" if it was in a challenge topic in which it would fit.

I like the image but wonder about the crop on top being tight. Easy fix on the small green thing. Not sure if I agree with the teeth whitening but maybe a little adjustment would be nice...on people white teeth are great but I'm sure a dinosaur didn't ever have white teeth.

Glad you are at least here even if you don't submit...which you should do if no other reason than to win with you small megapixel and show up all those who believe more is better. (this coming from a guy that has a 5mp and wants an 8 or better lol)

thanks everyone, you've given me a lot to think about. Maybe I will start posting in the challenges, who knows, it might just keep me outta trouble! cheers (pity I don't have an apple in the house right now lol)
