No, it was never an open challenge. Only the dates have changed. |

Yes, it was an open challenge for a short while. First it was a 24-h member challenge but with a wrong deadline date, then it was changed into a 24-h open challenge with the correct dates, and then it was changed again into a 48-h member challenge. Some of us are constantly monitoring the site, maybe we should go out to take pictures! :-)))

Doggone it. All the local Cinco de Mayo celebrations were held last weekend! One miserable concert scheduled for this evening.

Year 2000 was the last year of the Twentieth Century, this is the fifth year of the Twenty-First; you start the count with year one (or 2001), as there is no year zero. |
??? so-ho offtopic ;) , but why wouldn't there be a year zero? As people turn only 1 after a year and are five their whole sixth year long..it's 2005 in the sixth year of the century...
but this is the old discussion again, right? I stil think it's weird..the whole 'there's no year zero' ... I'll quit now :D and start looking for nice photos!!!

Absolutely correct, General. But accuracy and patience have fallen prey to political correctness. In their zeal to celebrate the millenium, the world's leaders neglected to check their calendars, or perhaps they just can't count. That was a shame. Everywhere people were claiming 'firsts' for the new millenium, effectively stealing that distinction from the people who really accomplished that distinction. Disgusting.

Oh that wasn't fair!
I stayed up ALL night long, running all over San Diego to find 5 young ladies, in a desperate attempt to emulate DrJones.
(Guess I won't have to submit the nursing home alternates that I had to settle for now.) |

Technically yes.
But when all of the numbers roll over (1999-2000) that's good enough for me. :-) |

Here in Canada it's "I wish it was June 5th" day.
Since we're mostly tired of the bad weather and want the good stuff..

I am constantly monitoring the site -- it must have gone by awfully quickly for me to miss it! I agree, I should go take more pictures. |

i really liked this one...being that i am kind of homebound for a while my challenge entries are pretty much all home made....getting out to locations is still not in the cards for me...this keeps me busy and from getting too bored....i want to let you all know how much you have all come to mean to me in a very short time....
from the bottom of my heart.... |

What I could say to you !
Just sorry for your kind of thinking â€Â¦
I think you know nothing about Iran and Iranian art â€Â¦
And you don’t know the great photographers like Abbas Kiarostami ( he is also one of the greatest Film Directors in the world ) , Shirin Neshat , Kaveh Golestan & â€Â¦

There was nothing wrong with that post. It was said as a joke. It wasn't racial.
I thought the states had freedom of speech???
I once thought that people had thick skin and could tell that LOL meant it was a "joke". This is BS.

The Government is not allowed to pass a law restricting your speech. Private organizations/companies (like this site) can pretty much set up whatever rules they want ... in this case they're in the TOS everyone agrees-to when they register.
I had nothing to do with your other post -- just responding to this one ... |
