I stumbled across DPC Prints from a google search on B&W photographs. Kept seeing "challenge winner" and "challenge entry" on photos I liked. Placed an order and investigated the challenge. Became a member a few days later.

Heh heh, I like that word "zombify". Kind of sounds like the song Hotel California, "you can check out anytime you like, but you may never leave"!

As for me, I'm a goo goo googler, too. Found it, joined it, love it!

my father turned me on to DPC a couple of weeks ago. I've never before been so inspired by photography. I've seen many great photographs in my time and some that i see on DPC rival the best i've ever seen.

I found DPC while searching for a solution to Flash Exposure Compensation on the 300D. It only took me a few days to join (and that says a lot considering that I had never subscribed to a paid site before).

My sister actually told me about it. I guess you could say I belong to a VERY photography oriented family. My dad is a wonderful photog(although he hasn't posted anything here...) and my sis is as well.

About a year ago my husband saw DPC featured on a local NY television station (NY1) highlighting the best websites. He had recently bought me my first digital cam and taped the feature for me. Yesterday I have been a member for 1 year now and its been part of my life since then! I have learned so much and yet so much to go. Today he bought me a D-70 and so a new year begins!! I LOVE my new Camera!! Oh and My Husband Too!!

One word... Metafilter.
A great place to visit regularly to find the best of the web... including loads of interesting photography sites.

I stumbled on the site when looking for photography contests.

That is were I saw the picture from e301 but after being here a week or 2 that site just lost all appeal to me. Don't get me wrong, it is a great site, but the feed back here is so much better.

I was searching for photo websites, contests, and tutorials...and the rest is a very long, twisted, and dysfunctional tale of hilarity and woe. Just like 99.9% of the rest of you guys! ;o)

By accident.. and what an accident. Woke me from my slumber where I was sometimes walking around with my mickey mouse digital toy, taking about 20 pics a year, to the terrible state I find myself in now. Now I am never without my camera, never, and take 1000's of pics a month. I keep spending money. I suddenly never have enough time for my photography and can not learn enough. Do not want to do anything but photography anymore. The decease has hit me hard, it's to the marrow and the bone. I will die this way. What an accident!!

What a hubby! Congrats on the new toy. Does he realize that, great as your D-70 is, that you now NEED several costly lenses and loads of other paraphenalia to go along with it? Looking forward to seeing some fabulous new shots that are sure to be coming from you ceedeez!

I was getting funny rings in the center of some of my northern lights pictures, and Google led me to a thread here (somewhere) that explained the rings. (Which are incidentally called "Newton's rings", and are basically due to the combination of using filters and the light being nearly monochromatic.) Have been here ever since. Almost continuously. Dang it. DPC is like crack.

Same for me...only it was my 3rd digital camera and it took me a couple of months to become a member. :-)

I was googling things to do to with photography and stumbled accross dpc. I didnt going at first but I remember I stumbled accross dpc a second time and I remember looking through a challenge that had just ended and I remember seeing one of Jacko's bug shots and just being in awe. After my first two challenges I upgraded to be a member and i've been hooked ever since.
