Rex, is there room in your clique for someone who not only has a fabulous talent for killing threads, but also can incite anger when protecting her offspring and (gasp) doesn't use L glass? I want to be a member of a clique, dammit! ;o)

if your comment is well thought-out and meaningful, it will be appreciated by just about anyone.
it's perfectly ok to just say what you do and don't like about an image. even if you don't have a lot of photography experience, you're probably able to assemble SOME thoughts about your interpretation of the photo. comments don't have to be an in-depth technical examination of every pixel. did it move you? is the horizon tilted too much for you? do you like the color?
you guys happy? thread's not dead yet. :P

well, the first thing i would say is:
why don't you get to know me (/us) first? i've stirred up plenty of trouble on here before, and don't plan to stop now.
considering this is our first real interaction, you probably don't know anything about me or my history on this site. feel free to trash me and call me out on the carpet for things i've said, but DO take the time to learn who you're insulting first.
whipping out generic statements like "they didn't want anyone to tell it like it is" just makes you look bitter.

I sent in a simple application for a position on the SC. I did not get the position, I̢۪m not bitter at all and I respect there decision. Lets all be happy for the people that were chosen by the Administers and SC and most of all support them. They have a job that will take time out of their day with no pay to assure that we have a site that is fun and enjoyable. For everyone that submitted for the position and did not get it, next time they have an opening apply again. Look at this thread and the post by Langdon and Clubjuggle :

Everyone's opinion counts. How you see other's images can greatly increase how you see your own and therefore improve your score. Learn how to see elements in others images and you will soon find that you can pick them out in your own. It won't just be hit and miss.

| i am still fairly new here so it is hard for me to understand if there really is a clique yet as i havent had time to see who really tends to respond to who.....however i know that i dont seem to get any feedback except for one very kind gentleman...i really would love to get involved and get as much help as i can ...i might not take a high scored photo yet but i do know what is nice to look at interesting and well balanced....i have put a few photos in my profile that i like ...feel free to view them and comment as a newly formed group or as individuals...thank you for your time |

I've never trashed you or said anything that I intended to be insulting to you. Maybe you are too sensitive? That is my point -- it just seems like they picked all the cliquey, sensitive, go with the flow type of people. There's nothing wrong with that at all and if you take that as an insult, I guess you can just go pound salt. :-D
As far as being bitter, if that's what you want to call me, then that's fine.

I suppose it is a bit distasteful to accept that I wasn't chosen. As far as using me being 'bitter' as an insult (which I'm assuming you meant it as), not sure why you would want to do that. Have you never been bitter over something before that meant something to you?
Just hang in there, and ... go with the flow ;-)

Ya know David, after watching this thread and the posts you made, I suspected there was disappointment & perhaps bitterness in your words.
I too applied, wasn't chosen, (despite being put on a pedestal of sorts in the original announcement thread) and was a little disappointed at first, but then realize the grand scheme of things:
Everything happens in it's own time & place, and for me, it just wasn't my time.
As soon as I reminded myself of that, it was easy to shrug the shoulders and say oh well. I have many other ways to contribute here, and perhaps it makes it easier that way, as I can do it in my timeframe.
Jump in and help out in the Critique Club and/or stay active in the forums until next time.
