new to the site here I've been reading a lot of forums and there are many posts that just say bump...what does this mean? |

It's just used to bring a topic back to the top of the list. Any post will do but most people use 'bump'.

Bumping a post puts it back to the top of the recent posts list and stops it falling off the bottom. So in essence more people see your post.

Another common (although I haven't seen it used here) acronym that serves the same purpose is 'TTT', which means 'To The Top' -- or just '^^^' as arrows pointing upward (also not seen here).
