I dunno, your "String of A's" did well! You've only entered 4 challenges and your technical skills seem darn good. Just need to find some inspiration. Bounce your ideas off friends & family. Have fun. |

When you enter the Dpchallenge website main page, look to the left hand side.. if you submitted a pic then you can see a section named 'My Submissions' All the info is under there.

Knew that it would be viewed as being a little unusual and that 'out of the box' thinking risks much greater punishment from voters than several kinds of technical sloppiness might; but I'm unconvinced the photo is quite this bad.

Scores only 4.76 but I got a favourite during voting. The score doesn't matter now but it would of been nice to have recieved a comment from the person who put this in their Favourites.

Yes, Robt. is surely correct about the "screening" voters. I had forgotten about them last night in my fatigue-induced haze. I also do that type of voting, but generally not beginning until a day or two into the challenge.
I'm in both People and RPS now and am surprised to see that my RPC shot (which I consider one of my better entries) getting hammered (5.7 and falling) while my People entry (certainly OK but not ribbon material) is holding steady at 6.1 or even climbing a bit. I'll wait a day or so and see if my theory is correct (that my RPS will start to climb too).

I can't speak for the others but I'm always up at rollover and I always do a "sorting vote" of 100% of the images before I call it a night. So my voting average on first night is artificially low, anhd if you have a really nice image the odds are good you're going to get bumped up by me in the next week.

i can share similar sentiments: the only comment so far indicates that the voters may not see the paper in my image. perhaps a lesson that if the image is abstract that the title should not be equally so...
others may have seen their scores increase, but mine have only dropped further. this is my first entry so I will watch and learn with interest... |

this is my first entry and after looking at the other entries i feel like mine is sooo generic but i am happy that no one else had the same idea.i too am missing the scissors. i just wish people would comment on my photo and tell me what would make it a better photo so i can learn from my ignorance as i am very new to the shutterbug bite!

My 2 month sabatical from DPC must have done me good... I'm running in both Free, and Rock Paper Scissors with both entries almost dead even:

| Middle of the road here. It is funny, that when it comes to painting and paintings, it easy to formulate a opinion and offer a thought. With photos, I do not get that feeling yet, I just end up thinking: Oh, that would make a great painting or nope. |
