Another look at the reflection...
In correct orientation per the beagle and confirmed by row-bear.

This cracks me up, it's JUST like a challenge; people are "interpreting" my original instructions:
Straight from the camera, absolutely unaltered. Who can guess what this is an image of?
Now, what I had in mind (I'm the challenge-framer, remember) is "Who can identify the object(s) comprising this photo?" Everyone focused on that tack for quite a while, and then suddenly we popped out of the box into this other definition of the challenge; "Who can identify what the object(s) is/are reflecting?"
So in the little time you have left to you, have at it; can anyone correctly attribute the identities of the things reflected? I know for a fact nobody's gonna identify what's doing the reflecting, though half of it's been identified already.

I've got 2 guesses:
1. Stainless Steel range hood
2. Stainless Steel Spoon. |

Whoops, HOLD the presses! Upon closer examination I realized that Kirbic is correct in his orientationa nd Beagle is wrong. At first glance beagle's looked right to me, but I just recreated the scene to be sure, and in fact Kirbic had it right.
So, what are the elements we are seeing?

OK, updating guesses...
A spoon or the outside of a mixing bowl. |

As to what we're seeing... upper right corner is a refrigerator/freezer door. Just to the left of that is a narrow cabinet. |

Let me give it a try.
It's a view from inside your vegetables (or whatever) drawer, in your fridge, facing it's door. Is that a can holder/tray, of some sort?

OK. Hang on. It's a garage reflected in a hubcap. The white refelction at the top is a cabinet with a long pull on it and the stuff to the left is stacked boxes or a tool chest maybe?
ARRGH!!
I don't think I can stay up till midnite to find out!! |

The angle of the image I think is important to determine what is reflected in the object.
The circular object that some (or maybe only one) have referred to as a can may be a doorknob. So... the reflection is of two partial doorways of which one shows the door closed.
I think.....

A halogen work light positioned with bulb vertical (reflection at right) is illuminating the scene, including an archway (top corner) and cabinet (left). The cabinet looks to me like a glass display case, possibly in a dining area adjacent to the kitchen?
Edit- can't tell left from right, prolly been looking at reflections too long, LOL.

Are you sure that's left field, or since it's reflected, would that be right field??

Maybe it's a pink vinyl seat - on a booth or bar stool? |

Those are definitely scratches on stainless steel, such as from a wire whisk or mixer or something to that effect. They look identical to the scratches in my stainless steel mixing bowls, and very similar to the ones on the bottoms of my copper and stainless pots.

Heh heh, I'm pretty sure Laurie is right on with the "utensil scratches on stainless". The pattern is very characteristic of that.

Yup, we've already established that it's a kitchen reflection, I've pretty much admitted that. Nobody has nailed what the medium of reflection is, nor do I expect anyone to, but yes, it's definitely contained in a stainless steel pan. Right now the real question seems to be, "what exactly is being reflected?", due to the diligent detective work by kirbic, beagle, and others who have manipulated the image forensically in a virtuoso display of trvial obsession...

...And we're shooting towards FOUR PAGES in 10 hours, a record I hope we can reach. Amazing what will engage peoples' brains, isn't it?
But you know, not ONE person has commented on whether they LIKE the picture or not...
