This is a thought in progress and certainly would need tweeking, but I think it is ''do-able'' and might even be worth doing too.
How about a check box section to build comments for those that don''t want (can not) type. Something along the lines of:
..............Well done - - - - - - - Not done
Focus..........._..._..._..._..._..._..._..._
DoF............._..._..._..._..._..._..._..._
Crop............_..._..._..._..._..._..._..._
Colors.........._..._..._..._..._..._..._..._
Challenge......._..._..._..._..._..._..._..._
ect...
With 5 of so check boxes for each topic.
This info shouldn''t be hard to turn into a comment. I would guess that the majority of voters use some form of GUI based operating system ( I WON''T give a free plug to those devils of Redmond!) and have grown overly dependent on the mouse as an input device. This might help folks give comments on a larger number of photos. Just a thought.

Actually, I don't like this.
If someone thinks my crop is poor, for example, I want to know WHY they think it was poor... what they would have changed. This really won't provide much useful information and might encourage those who would type a comment to use the checkboxes instead.

Hmmm, good point... You don't think those that currently leave written comments would continue to do so? I't not hard to tell that comments come from the same handful each week and I don't think they would chang that. But I could very well be wrong.

I do not want to have to click anymore than I have too. And I do not want to comment on photos that leave me with nothing to say.

| I'm not too keen on this idea either. People might feel obliged to evaluate areas that they don't really understand too well and might give useless evaluations. Those who feel they have something worthwhile to contribute do take the time to comment. Let's leave it that way. |
