The "like mother like daughter" one is a lovely candid. Funny the way they are perched the same. Nice capture

My favorite is "Wet Kiss", I absolutely love it! The waves framing the couple look great :)

Hmmm, hard to say which one I like best... Oh heck, I'm kidding! Number 4! Number 4!

Unless you were alone, I'd bet you were doing lots of chimping!

Super captures of a day at the beach. I'm not that all that far from San Diego here in Phoenix. It would be great to attend a San Diego DPCer get together sometime. Hope you guys organize one.

lol were you chimping at the beach?

Nice shots Lev!

If you don't mind, what aperatures, ISO & shutter speeds were these shot at, and in addition, wht lens was used. These all came out exceptionally clear!

Is it safe to assume you only shared the "politically correct ones" ?

Thanks guys for nice comments!

...chimping or peeping? I was not familiar with the term "chimping", so I had to google it. If that's what you mean, then yes, of course I was chimping, everybody does, no? Especially when you have so mich to chimp upon :)
Pacific beach was like Cancun during a spring break (not that I've been in Cancun during a spring break as much as I would love to, lol).

Brad,
all of these were shot with my recently acquired Nikon 70-300G tele, which cost me whopping $129 at B&H. Not a bad lens, just a bit slow in autofocussing, and the max aperture is only 4-5.6 (mostly 5.6). I had it on the max aperture all day long to have min DOF - I like it in candid shots like these. And ISO was the Nikon minimum 200 of course, which under the bright sun gave me shutter speeds like 1/1500 or so.

I'm chimping over that Baywatch shot, and it's not even my photo!

It's nice to see some real world sample pics from a lens like that. I'm starting to shop for some additions to the kit lens, so seeing your shots is a big help. Thanks.

...uh, got any more?

heh chimping is when you are previewing your shots on the rear LCD and you go OOH OOH and gawk at the shot you just took -- or show someone else.

EDIT: everyone does it. ;-)

Hey Tim, Lev, Brad... Speaking of beaches anyone doing the Encinitas Street Faire this weekend? Beach + Street fair (especially in encinitas) = Tons of Pics...

I did the Fallbrook Avocado Festival this past weekend and it was insane...they were expecting 70K people but I'd say it was closer to 100K...

I'm sure it's going to be fun. Will there be any jewelry to shoot for the current challenge? (just kidding). I'll try to swing by on Sunday, if family permits (or talk them into coming along). When are you planning to go?

Nice pictures! And small world--I live in PB. :-) I don't get down to the beach nearly as often as I should, though.

Yup and Sunday sounds good to me...I'm pretty open as the better half is out of town (up in montereykiddo's place for the big sur marathon) so it will be a camera fest this weekend.

Why am I always the last to hear about these things? oh... Maybe because I don't read the paper?

Going to the ArtWalk on Saturday. I'd love to do Encinitas Sunday. What do you guys think about meeting up somewhere? What part of town is it in? I expect it would be on Coast Hwy. Guess I could look it up, huh?

edit:
9am to 5pm on Highway 101 between D and J street
