and watched my D70 rolling down the hill next to me, bouncing over a stump, I figured it was a gonner as well as the Sigma 105 macro attached to it, especially when I heard the lens crack against something hard.
BUT, as we both stopped rolling and I reached for it, niether the camera nor the lens were damaged in the least. Thank you Nikon.
Nikon cameras must be tough because my first digital was a Coolpix 990 and I must have dropped that at least three times from about 5 feet with no problems. Hopefully I can be less clumsy with the D70. |

I'm fine. Let's just say I'm glad no one was there to see it. It wasn't my finest nor my most graceful moment in life. |

You were luckier than my Dad. When I was younger we went on a family vacation to Hawaii, he had his Nikon camera around his neck and fell when we were hiking a dormant volcano. The volcanic rock cracked the filter and lens. But the camera body was okay :) |

My camera nearly slid off the hood of my car today as I was opening my backpack to change a lens... glad I caught it moving out of the corner of my eye! It's a feeling that is almost indescribeable... sheer terror!!! Whew. Glad we BOTH came out ok today! :o)

I fell in my basement today and cut my leg pretty badly lol. There were no cameras injured during this time however.
Glad to hear you are swell.

A good photographer would've realized he was about to fall and quickly changed to timer mode and propped the camera up to get a nice self-portrait as he was falling. lol
Seriously though, glad you're ok. |

It was really rather cartoonish. I was squatting down trying to take a marco on a very steep hill and in slow motion just sort of fell over backwards like someone had pushed me.
Maybe it would have been better if someone HAD gotten a shot of that. |
