Here are a few pics from the tulip festival that is going on all this month at Tokyo's Showa Kinen Park. They don't have enormous fields full of flowers there, but they have little patches and even some artistic designs of over 380,000 tulips and poppies all over the park. I'd appreciate any feedback on these shots. Thanks!

Philip, those are beautiful shots! I love the bright colors and the airy feel they all have. Gorgeous work!! :o)

Nice. I took some tulip photos yesterday in the school garden; I may get around to posting some later.

Thanks, Laurie! Tulips are a lot of fun for me to shoot for just that reason. :-)

And I'd love to see your shots too, David. If you happen to have an excuse to make it down to Tokyo before April 24th, the festival will be going on until then. Let me know if you do, because I might try to make it back since I only saw a little over half of the gardens they have there - it's a REALLY big park.

they are my absolute fave flower, and these are great displays of them

A lot of my shots were pretty similar, being macros inside the flowers. (Hard to do when it's windy as well).

Nice ones, David. Glad you were able to work Woodie into one of your shots. ;-) It was really windy here too, so I just had to set up each shot and then wait for the wind to die down. I might go back on a calmer day before the festival ends.

Nice closeups, Asit. I think you intended that second link to go to your next picture, but it's easy enough to click the Next button from the first pic.

I love the DOF in your shot, Caba. And Gibun, those pics are incredibly sharp and textured. Really cool photos, guys!

Philipdyer, your purple blossom is great, this is the more mature flower, also a magnolia I presume.

tulips are cool

Thanks, Travis. :-)

And thanks for the ID, gibun. I couldn't tell if that was a magnolia, since I'm only used to seeing the big white southern style of magnolia tree. That's a really nice pic of an open flower from that same kind of tree.

Some more recent tulip pics. With the white one, I didn't notice it was a spider until I looked at it on my computer.
