thanks to some incredible feedback and examples from thamer, i have started revisiting some of the images i shot in the uk.

i am now convinced that it is worth it to look at every image as a possible bw or duotone. not everyone will work, but you never know unless you look.

I like the B/W - especially the one on the far right (second set posted). The spot of blue really pops out...

Nice work. I love b&w...I'm trying to get better at it myself. Seems it brings the focus to the tonal range and the actual subject instead of flashy colors. It portrays a mood better. Again, good shots.

i rarely looked at my images in b/w until thamer gave me a big wake up. these are just the result of actually working at it a bit.

I know what you mean. I worked a few of my Tower Bridge shots into B&W and it took way too long. I have a hard enough time figuring out which of my colour treatments to apply to a shot without having to worry about which will work in B&W too!

Some, no most of these shots have taken on a new life. I don't like to see B&W for the sake of it, but these work really well. 'The Express' especially takes us into a whole different world and blows the colour version away. 'Race/Erase' works, but I still prefer the colour. And 'Way Out' is top notch.

I still have a lot to learn but thanks :)

Skip, those look great, although some of your whites look a bit grey, levels and contrast would help. These photos are artistically captured, thanks for sharing!
