i don't know why you think it is such a great deal. I think most places sell it brand new for this kind of money. B&H lists it for $179.95
Anyway, a great flash, I just recently got it.
Canon equivalent is 420EX, but this one is definitely better

Not that great a deal - US models at $195 at b&h, gray markets at $179. The pic he has posted is obviously not of hte unit for sale...
The SB600 is a nikon only. Canon cameras can use canon 420Ex, 550EX, 580EX.
You can get a flash from Sigma (EF500DG ST or Super) and Metz makes flashes as well.
