A DPC get together to go photograph the Luke AFB Air Show for next Saturday, March 19th, is being organized.

Anyone interested please post a message here. Logistical details are yet to be worked out, but it will be Saturday for sure. The show is free but parking is $5 so we plan to carpool.

Those tentatively planning to meet so far include:
briphoto
tfaust
louddog
DoFear
BAMartin
stdavidson

All are welcome. The more, the merrier!

Hmmm...
May see about this one, as I am pretty sure I will still be going to my Mom's that weekend. (Sun City)
(Been to dinner on the base there at the Officer's club before too)

Brad... that would be great if you could be here. We'd be glad to have you come along. You are close to Luke AFB out in Sun City too.

Here is a link to the Luke Days web site where you can find out more about what is going on there:

BradP and Kirbic:
Whenever you are in town and if you have time to go take pictures just PM me and we can work something out.

This is one of the best desert wildflower seasons in many years in Southern Arizona and you would not be disappointed. It is in ful swing right now. I have some of my early shots posted here:
//www.pbase.com/azleader/spring_2005
(I've got about 1,000 more shots I haven't evaluated for processing yet)

DoFear:
We haven't decided the details how we will hook up, but it will be decided by Friday and will probably be early Saturday morning. Tina, Daryl and I have to drive over from the East Valley. Barbara is near downtown and you and Brian both live out close to Luke AFB.

Yup... most of those pictures were taken right near where we hiked. Just wait until I get more up. You won't hardly recognize the place. :)

Any plans on carpooling or a meeting place at Luke yet?

Having been to a few of these, the Thunderbirds are always great to watch, but the F15 is truly the star of the show. To watch an aircraft go from ground level, straight up and out of sight in just seconds is pretty amazing. The Red Barron bi-planes put on an amazing show too.

Although... I'm considering boycotting the show since they will not have the AH64D there!

Hmmmm... great question. Since you Tina(tfaust) and I are way out East maybe we could ride together, could you pick me up on the way? Barbara (BAMartin) lives just North of downtown and maybe we could pick her up too.

Brian (Briphoto) and Aaron (DoFear) live closer to Luke so perhaps we could meet up with them somewhere close by. You guys have any suggestions?

Now what time?...

I know the doors open at 8:30 and we should be there early enough to get a decent parking space. From where Tina and Daryl live it has got to be a 60-90 minute drive strait not counting pickups and meetings.

I'm thinking we might meet up with Brian and Aaron around 7:45 at a place of their choosing.

Any thoughts?

Jennifer... please let us know when you are going to be out here. Perhaps we can get together for a photo safari. It would be fun.

June is a good time for northern Arizona. I know some good safari places.

We can pick you and BAM up on the way. BAM might need to meet us somewhere, but I know you're not to far off the freeway.

It'll probably be easier to meet the other two guys there. Swap cell numbers or something?

Sounds like that could work... we will certainly need more than one car. BAM will be bringing Paulina and Aaron plans on taking his family.

We will have to see if that works with Brian and Aaron.

Anyone notice that an Arizona photographer got 2nd in the Surreal challenge? He is from Chandler.

Looks like AZ photographers are on the rise at DPC! Keep plugging away and we might catch up to the Oregon and Iceland folks. :)

Any other AZ photographers out there interested in going Saturday to the air show??

Uh-oh, it's suppose to rain all day Saturday. They won't fly if the clouds ars too low.

Let's wait until Friday to see what the rain is going to do and maybe re-schedule for Sunday if needed?

Rain? Here? What would the chamber of commerce say if they knew what you were telling the world?

Yes, lets keep an eye on the weather and adjust as needed. Otherwise, we can go get more waterfall pictures. :)

Will do. :-) My husband will be speaking at a conference so I'm sure I'll some free time, hopefully. To tell you the truth I'm not quite sure exactly where we'll be going but I'm assuming it'll be somewhere around the Phoenix area.

Keep us posted. If you are anywhere nearby we can probably work something out.

Take care, have fun!
