Just looking through the Challenge archive and I see that there was never a Birds challenge. If I missed it, please let me know.
With all the pictures on this site of birds, I think that would make for an intersting challenge. Any opinions? |

That's one for the dSLR gang. Just try shooting any sort of action with a prosumer like mine; the lag between shutter click and image capture is appalling. Still, it would be fun.

I've been thining of suggesting a challenge with the theme of Flight, which would of course feature birds, and any other thing that flies - insects, planes, helicopters, paper planes, trousers...
Oh, scrap trousers. |

Wow! That's really beautiful shot, the exposure and color are great!
I hope that this will be a challenge someday. |

You're only suggesting this because of the gaggle of hummingbird photos I got yesterday ... : ( |

My Canon S1 probably has the worst shutter-lag of all time plus EVF-only framing (no optical viewfinder) which really adds to the challenge. I spent about an hour yesterday shooting a hummingbird, seagulls, cormorants, and ducks, after my attempt to shoot those enormous (cargo) cranes on their way to the Port of Oakland was mostly negated by distance and haze. |

Yes he sure does... but unfortunately, I think the beautiful owls he managed to capture have flown back up north.

I just took this one yesterday, how would something like this have done? (Straight from camera, no PS to it yet)

Beautiful, with brightness/contrast adjustments, that would've been good for the Light on White challenge. |
