A friend of mine sent me this a few days back and I was really impressed with what this guys doing.
He shoots within and around 4 days of the full moon with very long exposures. I'm very inspired to recreate his style. |

Novel approach - very satisfying, well exposed technique. It all has quite a Spielberg quality to it - quite filmic. Thanks for the link. |

Of course I meant you. I copied and pasted that other bums url by accident.
I think your California Rolls are great. What lighting did you use? Do you have any other food shots?
Please look at my food shots. All maiden efforts. I'd love any and all opinions or advice. I'm new to the DSLR world and I have no great lighting but I'm good at plate and platter designs. Might already have jobs lined up easily, if I can nail it all. A one man show kinda deal... |

He was talking about a very cool photographer, not one who's too cool. But I'm glad he brought that webpage to our attention.
p.s. you've got some great photos, too, TooCool. |

Thanks for the compliments! Most of the shots on my profile page were actually taken with my old (may it rest in peace) P/S Oly d-550z. California roll was lit using natural light from behind in front of a window. I had to put a sheet up to difuse the light some and all I could find was a patterned one, hence the funny reflections on the plate. I do have one other food shot, but it was a special effect shot involving a pizza and by the time I got the shot right, the pizza was dead. It's in the movie title challenge. Please don't bother looking for it! ;-) |

Wow....a special effects shot involving pizza?
Sounds hazardous. I promise not to look.
The other thread about the Lost America guy is only over a month old.
...so I'm a little behind the times. Eh! What can I say? |
