Yipppeee! I kicked junior high butt! I got No.7 wrong. ... I was starting to think I was hopeless. And for some reason being 24 years old and being able to do Gr.8 math gives me new hope.

I got 9/10 because I mis-read question 10. I thought they asked the distance, not the difference in the distances.

8/10 and 6/6 I cheated on 1 of the grade 8 ones and used a calculator -- only problem was it was set on decimal numbers!
Now lets play "Who wants to do my linear algebra..." |

10 out of 10, all in my head as well. You don't have to calculate any square roots to figure it out. You know 700 x 700 is 490000. You know 750 x 750 is 562500. If you roughly interpolate in your head, you come up with about 720. The difference from the L x W would be 280. One of the answers was 279. You can do it all with rough estimations to get the close answer, then compare to the choices.
