| ok I'm am thinking about buying a better camera and thinking about spending three to four hundred dollars what is a good choice. I kinda like the Fuji S5100 but is there anything better out on the market in that price range? |

What types of subjects do you enjoy or planning on taking? Printing larger sizes, more zoom, add on flash?

I'm not quite sure I wanna get something that is pretty flexable. I don't plan on printing anything larger then a 5"x7". Opitical zoom is definatly a plus. I can't see my self putting up the money for a flash for a while so that is not nessisary. |

| Even though I don't have one, I'm a "fan" of the Canon A-series (A75/85/95) which seem to be the most flexible P&S cameras out there -- besides the program modes they also have full manual capability, and I think you can use an adapter to add an external lens as well. |

It was my bad luck!
Don't get me wrong. They are awsome cameras for the money you pay.
Here are the A70 results onthis site. A75/85/95 are even a little improved.

| At least that story is about the older models ... it would be nice to think that they'd fix a line-wide problem before bringing out the updated versions. |

Kodak DX-6490 is a great choice within your price range. Excellent color, sharpness, some manual controls, good accessories. It's big brother, the Kodak DX-7590 is a little bit more but worth it too.

I like the s5100, but I think the sensor on the s5000 is better.

This camera (Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ3) gives a lot of 'bang' for the buck! ($319 after rebate)

I agree with Laurielblack, definately consider the Kodak DX7590, I used its little brother for awhile and got wonderful results!! You can find some good prices out there.... worth the extra money!
