I had a wonderful afternoon today. It is February 5, 2005, it is sunny outside, and itâs 61 degrees. I couldnât ask for a much nicer day in the dead of winter in western North Carolina. Normally, itâs much colder than this outside this time of year. Anywayâ¦
I visited the grand opening of a new exhibit at the Catawba Science Center called âRainforest Aliveâ today. I guess anyone who is reading this knows that people like us (the Photo-A-Day) people always have a camera within reach. Itâs even worse with me. Since Iâm a stringer for the local newspaper, I am always looking for feature art opportunities that I may be able to sell to the paper. When I saw this, I had to shoot. Miss Sarah McGreevy (10 years old) is holding her spot at the end of the line for the free face painting for the kids who attended this exhibit today. The people in charge of this project were kind enough to make a visible cut-off point so kids would not spend a lot of time in line and then get turned away at the end of the day.
