hmm. i'm not doing too well. It's my first submission to DPC. I wasn't really satisfied with my photo though. Dallas has some pretty uninspiring road signs.

Waited with my post till the number of votes gets above 100, since from experience I know that only then you can actually hope that your score will more or less hold up.

Oh well...I thought I had a good one, but I guess the voters don't agree. I mainly was hoping for comments to get better, but none of those either. Maybe next time. Shoulda gone for the stop sign :) |

Mid range scores get few comments on here. The really bad and the really good are easier to comment on.

When I vote I comment on every photo. It seems to help and everyone seems to appreciate.

The really bad and really good usually don't 'need' comments. It's usually pretty obvious.

Still a mid-range score, but muuuch better than my others, which are barely staying over 5. 9 comments already, most of them confusing, because people are suggesting non-basic editing to make it better. Ehhhh? If I could've, people, I would've.

Mine is doing pretty well, cosidering that my roadsign isnt too rich in color. I had a hard time getting color out of this particular photo.

I think everyone should spend a little extra time with their critiques and comments on people's pictures. It really does help! I make note to give at least a few FULL detailed critiques on the mid-ranged photos to try and help out.
Think of how cool it would be to grab some helpful advise every challenge!

I received the identical comment as Falc. On checking the profile I find the commenter a challenge virgin who has made over thirty comments the over whelming number of which were not helpful. I think he needs treatment

Inspired by all you prolific commentators out there I've gone back and added comments to a lot more now. Also bumped up several of the selective desat photos (or not selective desat as I now realise from the post in the other forum) as they clearly are within basic editing now its been explained.
Also given comments to everything I scored below a 4. So hard on many to be truly constructive. "out of focus" etc doesn't really help people that much, and as my mum always says, if you've nothing nice to say, don't say anything...
Besides, with my relative newness at this DPC lark I hardly feel I am well placed to critique many people's work that is of a higher standard than mine. |

who cares man just say what you think and preceed it with "In my opinion". They can't get made if its your opinion and especially if its honest.
