You could use pets, Adults or babys.

The one reason I would not like to see this as a challenge though, unless broadened somehow, is that it would not be fair as a lot of people would not have access to a baby. Luckily I do, but I still think it unfair to many (the majority???).

Even better reason would be the fact that most people would use their own babies for the shots and would not take any critique well at all, regardless of how well intentioned or fair.

Looking back at the first images of babies in flowers does look a bit tacky now....they were fun though because she came up with the idea. The later work is more realistic and shows a lot more flaws such as skin imperfections etc...this gallery Pure shows this clearly....but it would still be fun trying something Ann Geddes...ish

I don't do clichés or greeting cards. Why couldn't you have picked a more cutting edge or respected artist?

Not everyone shares the opinion of Anne Geddes as you do. I respect her work very much, and I am sure many others do as well. You could always sit it out if the challenge were to come up.

I like both. I like Ann because her photos are fun and light. I love Annie because her photos are just deep! It could be a learning experinence to try an imitate work of an artist that you dont care for, you will learn how they could maintain their style but make it better, or you may even appreciate it afterwards.

Pass. Too cute for my taste. Why don't we just imitate the "hang in there" cat or the two little "how's farming?" boys with their caps and their overalls. It would be all the same to me.

Sort of like this?

Whether you like cute or not, it works in some instances. Everyone has different tastes and preferences, and everyone has different attitudes about genres of photography. Thank goodness we don't all like the same things or the world would be a very boring place.

So, you're one of those that like depressing shots. I think it is time we had a challenge that had some cute pictures in it.

Hopefully this pink challenge will bring out some cute stuff.

I don't mind 'shooting' cute stuff... er uh... you meant with a camera, right?

Just kidding. I am definately not a hunter, the closest to 'cute stuff' shooting I get would be in computer games.

Whats so depressing about Annie Leibovitz's work? Do you feel that by being serious it becomes depressing? I like her work because it makes me think. Geddes work just makes me want to eat a strawberry or something.
