Anyone own or used this lens: Canon 35-350 F3.5L?

I had decided on the 70-200 F2.8L but the above lens looks a bit more versatile (except for the Fstop of course..). How much of a difference does F3.5 make compared to F2.8?

Thanks, Lori

2/3 stop. It's still f/5.6 on the long end so it would not be great for much indoor or lower light stuff at all.

Think missjune has one.

You could also look at reviews at Fredmiranda.com and other review sites.

Yea, that's the part I was wondering about: what it'd be at the long end. Thanks John :-)

The 70-200 is a sharper, higher contrast lens.
Here is a link to the specs for both lenses.

The MTF looks much better for the 70-200.

The 35-350, because of the wider zoom range and smaller aperture, will hunt more then the 70-200 while aquiring a focus point. This effect will be exagerated in low light.

i'm not positive, but i think that lens also is a push pull design and i've read that a lot people don't like them ...

... but maybe not, just adding what i think i know
