So I'm taking a intro photography class, and week we displayed stuff to the class using an LCD projector. One of the problems we had was the projector blowing out the highlights really badly. It was an older projector and already had it's brightness floored, and I was only able to adjust the output from the laptop somewhat without visibly darkening the entire image. Colors look passable, it's just the highlights(really the white areas and skies) that are getting murdered.
Our next assignment is covering qualities of light so I expect this to be a bigger issue this time around even then last. So what I'd like to do is save an additional copy of my shots, only with the highlights of the picture darkend. Or really, any advice on adjustments to make to the photo that will give it better results on the projector. If I just need to darken the highlights, can someone tell me how to do that in PS7? I don't know how to darken just the highlights.
Thanks!

You really have to have some one who knows how to adjust the projector...out of the box they are high brightness/contrast. I have 4 high end proximas at work that it never fails someone (stinkin users) go in and mess with the gamma and blows out everyones presentation from that point forward. Lights out in the room, shades closed (glass beads on the screens pick up all kinds of ambient light) and see if you find gamma in the menu...Tons of adjustments on the higher end units. Digital in is always better than analog (db-15 or RCA).

Since I own one myself, I have a pretty good idea how to adjust a projector. The unit the class is using is an older one that doesn't have as much control over the output as a newer projector, so I'm trying to adjust to the weaknesses of the projector by adjusting the pics to it.
