I just registered for the April 9th Photo Wild shoot at the Carolina Raptor Center. They are also having one on April 2nd.
Last summer, my husband and I were fortunate enough to be able to visit the CRC and meet some other DPC'ers there, and also get some great photos. I wondered if anyone from DPC was planning on going to this event. We would love to meet some of you there.

I plan on going to this again this year (I went last year as well) but I am not sure which of the two weekends I will be going. I will shoot for the 9th though, I would love to catch up with some DPC'ers again in the Carolinas. It's a great event and the proceeds go to a worthy cause.
Edit: I still have the images from last year online - I hope to do some better work this year but it gives an idea of the variety of raptors in the shoot.

I'll bet he doesn't even have to call them to register!

Rich, we would love to be able to see you there again this year, I hope you can make it. We are able to go either Saturday, but had to "pick" one , so we picked the 9th.

I haven't been to one of these Photo Wild shoots at the CRC but it sounds interesting! John was telling me about it a while back. I would be interested in going if I knew for sure I would get to take some eagle shots. Here are a few from this summer that are in my DPC portfolio:
Here are the rest of my Raptor Center shots

I love your shots! Especially the Barn Owl, and the #8 photo (of that darling little owl!) of your CRC photos.
Hope to see you at Photo Wild.

Do you have to attend to submit? I have a number of shots like this I would not mind entering.

I believe that the "photo contest" is only for the photographers who participate in the Photo Wild shoot.

I read it as saying, "Participants" are invited to submit up to 5 framed photographs for the contest or just to exhibit at the gallery.
And also on the CRC website you will see last years winners and you will see that all the birds are "named", I think all these birds reside at the CRC, I know for a fact that Nate is one of the CRC's bald eagles.
