I had a couple of ideas on the way to work this morning, maybe y'all can help refine them into something useful:

1. Fenced In - Compose an image in which some sort of man-made fence, wall, or other barrier is prominent in the photograph.

2. It's Hip to Be Square - Photograph anything you like, as long as the square or cube shape is the crux of your composition, AND the final product should be cropped to a square.

I'd have to think about squares some more, but fences/walls could be interesting

Squares, but no square crops and the main subject (square) could not be centered in the composition.

Test peoples ability to compose an offset square object in a retangular frame. It is far to easy to shot a square object and center it in a square frame.

It would be interesting to have such a strictly defined challenge. They're often so openended that this would be a nice counterpoint.

Fenced In is a go with me but I prefer Squares be refined a bit. Starting out with "Photograph anything you like" is an invitation to forum threads that go on forever about what meets the challenge.

Two good ideas Laurie, maybe you should get a job farther from home.
