I have a new bird in my back yard. He is a woodpecker I have never seen before. I have been searching the web for a list of birds found in North America, but I have had no luck. If anyone had a web address you could post to help me it would be most appreciated.
Thank you in advance

Have you tried The National Audubon Society web site?

There are lots of other sites too, like...
Cornell Lab of Ornithology

or...
Identifying Wild Birds

Try a google.com search with "identify birds" and you should find other places too.

Good luck!

The BioDiversity Institute's Internet Field Guide to Birds is one I use sometimes. Or maybe I should say I try to use.

If you have a picture of it, I've found the good folks at //www.naturephotographers.net/ very helpful if you post the image in the forums and ask nicely.

Particularly good because the forums are regional.

If you like I could put it up for you? email it to me with some details if you want me to Diana. And don't forget, you can always mail a cheque if thats all that is stopping you signing up.
