Sounds like a good plan to me. |
i completely agree, if you can get good images out of low end equippment, the only way is up (baby ). |

A camera is a tool, so you need to learn how to use it.
Each camera acts differently, so you need to learn how to use it.
Each challenge pushes you with your camera...damn, learn how to use it!!
My poor old fuji 6900z has been used for 3 years now...i still can't use it to its full potential. We can bitch about not having the latest all flashing DSLR, but the truth is, we look thru the viewfinder and think the camera will do it for us.
I think we should grow with our equipment...that means reading the manuals and doing what they say. Most males dump the manual...cos it can't be that hard to use!! |

hahah, what is that about anyways?
my hubsand is the complete opposite... he reads manuals over and over and over again like most people do thier favourite novel.
I think reading the manual can be the be all and end all in getting a canera to work it's best. I read mine all the way through... well the english part anyways. |

Wow!! That must be a first.
Who really has time to read the manual, when there are all those little buttons to push??? |

:-)
When I got the new camrea I skipped the 'read manual while battery charges' step as my previous camera took the same battery, and I had one charged already. I'd taken 2 512Mb cards of images before I even got the manual out of the wee plastic bag :-).
(Although to be honest, that night I read it cover to cover.)
Cheers, Me.

I'd just like to patt myself on the back, for placing in the top 40 of the movie challenge with my crappy 97 dollar camera and a 100watt ceiling bulb, and a window; amongst all those slick digital SLRs and digital rebels (nothing in the top 40 besides me was under a 3mp).
Arrogant, i know ;) but i am proud of myself.
But to quote bob the builder "it's a poor workman who is blaming his tools" :) |
You should be proud of yourself. You worked within the limits of your camera and produced an excellent image that people loved. People have problems when they try to take photos with their cameras that it wasn't designed for. It's all about knowing how to use the equipment that you have.
